Roxanne Hoyle Weight Loss How Ladbaby Mum Silenced The Trolls And Stunned The Baftas

There is a specific type of moment that causes you to stop scrolling. The kind where someone walks into a room, or in this case, a red carpet, and something is obviously, unquestionably different not the filtered, carefully lit kind. That’s what transpired on May 10, 2026, when Roxanne Hoyle went out to the London BAFTA Awards. By most accounts, she looked amazing in a floor-length black gown that hugged her figure and had a strapless V-neckline and a bow at the waist. Her supporters agreed. Almost immediately, the comments began to pour in.

For months now, perhaps longer than most people have noticed, Roxanne better known to her 1.3 million Instagram followers as LadBaby Mum has been candid about her fitness journey. She has discussed establishing a routine, going to the gym in the morning, and showing up even in the absence of motivation. You would typically scroll past this kind of content. There is fitness content everywhere. However, it is more difficult to condense the Roxanne Hoyle story into a fitness journal.

Like so many of these tales, it began with cruelty. Over the past few years, Roxanne has been subjected to a persistent wave of online body-related trolling the kind of harsh, targeted criticism that doesn’t garner the attention it deserves. Instead of giving up, she pushed back in the most sensible way possible: she put on her sneakers, went to the treadmill most mornings, and persisted. It’s probably only she who can determine whether that was therapy, defiance, or just something to do with her hands. Maybe all three.

It became impossible to ignore the outcomes. She attracted attention at the LadBaby Christmas party wearing a red dress that hugged her figure. She shared a bathroom mirror selfie with her husband, Mark, who is known to millions as LadBaby, captioning it simply as a “Date Night.” Fans were taken aback. “Hard work right there well deserved” was written by one. When you understand the context of the reaction, it truly has meaning.

The birthday then arrived instead of quietly celebrating her 42nd birthday on March 2, Roxanne leaned into it with a force that seemed almost purposeful. “I’m not apologising I’m owning it” stuck in her post, which she shared while sporting comedy glasses, holding balloons that spelled out 42, and having badges pinned to her top. She described how all of these experiences had “built a strength, perspective, and gratitude that 24-year-old me simply didn’t have yet”. It was refreshingly unscripted. The majority of birthday posts are performances. It felt like processing this one.

Roxanne was described as “the strength behind every win, the smile behind every video, and the love behind this family” by Mark, who celebrated the day by posting a picture of her wearing pyjamas and red birthday sunglasses. It’s the kind of tribute that might come across as corny. It lands differently, for some reason, coming from a couple whose brand was built on Christmas chart records and sausage rolls.

Roxanne posted a video of herself testing “trainer heels for the red carpet” while dancing in black leggings and a cropped sports jacket a few weeks prior to the BAFTAs. She danced around the living room until she got Mark’s attention while he was scrolling through his phone on the sofa. He started laughing. It was the kind of small, intimate, genuinely humorous moment that is difficult to replicate. Both her energy and her altered form were observed by her followers. Fans wrote “wow, you look great” and “confidence goals” in equal measure, and it’s possible that those two phrases are now inseparable.

The BAFTA appearance seemed to be the culmination of a gradual reclamation that had been quietly building for more than a year. Not only of her physical appearance, but also of her self-assurance. She has previously discussed how the support of her fans gave her the confidence to try wearing a cut-out swimsuit at the beach, something she had previously been afraid to do. Although it’s a minor detail, it reveals something about her recent past.

The exact combination of factors that led to Roxanne Hoyle’s weight loss transformation is still unknown. It could have been trolling, morning runs, the desire to feel better on the inside, or a changing sense of self that sometimes occurs when you turn 42 and decide to stop shrinking. Most likely all of those items. It seems like it was never really about the dress or the red carpet as you watch this unfold over several months. At some point, Roxanne came to the conclusion that she didn’t owe her body to the opinions of others. The rest of us just caught up at the BAFTAs.
