Dove Cameron Before Plastic Surgery: What Photos From 2008 Actually Reveal

Dove Cameron Before Plastic Surgery

The majority of people have already forgotten about one version of Dove Cameron. She was twelve years old, still going by Chloe Hosterman she had light brown hair, thinner lips a natural nose bump. She performed in local Washington State theater productions.

No waves of platinum. No cheekbones are sculpted. Not a headline. It’s really hard to reconcile that face with the one on magazine covers today when you look at those pictures now it raises issues that a straightforward “hair dye and aging” explanation doesn’t fully address.

In response to the conjecture, Cameron told “People” that color and time are the key factors. “Guys, please, now that I’m thirty, the only difference is some hair dye. That’s all. To be honest, it’s a self-assured diversion that anyone would make. The shape of her nose, the architecture of her upper eyelids, the changing volume of her lips over time the color of her hair don’t exactly match what early pictures actually depict.

Before undergoing plastic surgery, Dove Cameron depicted a young girl with noticeably hooded eyes, a dorsal hump along her nasal bridge relatively thin lips on top and bottom. Some of those characteristics had already changed by the time “Liv and Maddie” debuted in 2013, when she was still a teenager.

The tip of the nose looked more sophisticated. There was a noticeable smoother bump along the bridge. Drs. Gary Linkov and Charles S. Lee, two plastic surgeons who have examined the timeline, have both noted indications of an early rhinoplasty that may have occurred before the age of seventeen. That observation is not insignificant. It implies that whatever cosmetic work may have taken place, it started when she was still a minor navigating Hollywood with her mother, who had written a book about raising a child actor in Los Angeles.

Given the nature of the beauty industry, it’s plausible that pressure to adopt a particular appearance began early. Even so, there’s something unsettling about accepting that fact. Observing a twelve-year-old’s face progressively change into something more industry-standard raises issues that are entirely related to what Hollywood subtly expects of young women and have nothing to do with personal judgment.

The changes continued over the ensuing years. In patterns consistent with repeated filler treatments, lip volume fluctuated, appearing fuller, thinner then dramatically fuller again. Her eyebrows started to tilt upward. Her cheekbones sharpened in ways that are usually not produced by baby fat alone.

Even her jaw and chin seemed more projected by 2022, which made some experts wonder if she needed implants or more filler. Looking at the entire arc gives the impression that cosmetic improvements were applied gradually and purposefully rather than all at once, which tends to read as natural change that is, until you compare pictures taken fifteen years apart.

This is not a condemnation at all. Cosmetic procedures are choices made by the individual. No one needs an explanation from Cameron. The timeline, her age the way the industry shaped her before the public had a chance to get to know her are what make her story intriguing, not the surgery itself. Prior to having plastic surgery, Dove Cameron had a dream and a bump on her nose while participating in community theater. All subsequent events, whether surgical or not, took place inside a machine that doesn’t give a damn about either of those things.
